Free Real Estate Investing Ebooks

When you buy a real estate course, how do you know if the product you are buying is of any greater value than free real estate investing ebooks? You see, if you’re like most people, you use price as a guide. Higher price equates to higher quality or so much people assume anyways.
Why do most gurus charge thousands of dollars for information that could be written in a $25 book?
The illusion is that the higher cost item is of higher quality by the end buyer.
Did you know that a lot of companies repackage products as their own competitors? Microbrewery “local” brews that charge more for “supporting that local community are usually owned and produced by the same big corporations. Another example is that Dell computers are mostly compromised of other manufacturer’s parts that are repackaged. Increased profits are achieved by juice companies by putting the same juice in a more expensive “high quality brand” label.
So which “juice” are you paying for, the expensive package or the stuff inside?
The marketing image is every business
Often when you believe you are buying a superior quality and also more costly “competitor,” you are really purchasing the exact same repackaged product. From reading real estate investing books from the library I can tell you something about how the guru’s courses don’t ever give you full return on investment for what you pay for. In fact, the free material is typically actually more detailed. That’s why there are great sites out there like The Investor Today that are teaching people how to get started without breaking the bank.
Take this into consideration. If you have a room full of 100 students paying $5000 to attend your seminar that only costs about $2500 total to put together, your gross profit can be $500,000 dollars every single week. How much real estate investing do you really need to do? They really don’t do any investing and that’s the truth about it. Consequently, in real estate investing, the $10-50 books often contain better and more complete information than the vastly more expensive boot camps and seminars. The reason is simple, they are assembled by investors in the real world that aren’t capitalizing from the false price-illusion paradigm.
How much would you fork on hype?
Would you spend $5000? How about $10,000? The price-quality illusion is one that has caused many to spend more than they need on the belief that paying a lot will produce superior quality results. In reality, all that has changed is your perception. You may be believing that the free ebook from The Investor Today website doesn’t contain the same information as an expensive weekend seminar. There is actually more value to it in truth. However, your perception about it is your choice.
Pricing is generally a black art and is based more on what people are prepared to pay than on the actual cost of the product. Real estate gurus could charge hundreds of dollars for a free course and people would actually pay for it. Often the costs of manufactured goods have the production costs reflected in the price. Therefore, price-quality generally makes sense. In terms of information, the difference between a $5000 course and a $10 book is typically the packaging and sales. The information is exactly the same only they are presented from very different marketing angels.
What information should a course contain?
1. How to Information
It may seem very apparent that your course should include this kind of information but you’d be surprised how many books on various topics, including investing in real estate, say to you for example that you need a discount without telling you how to achieve a discount. Motivation alone isn’t worth the $1000s you could pay for a seminar. How to information is a must, not just the motivation.
2. Appropriate expecations
Real estate has created nine times the millionaires than every other kind of business combined. There’s no question that real estate can make people wealthy. However, many gurus almost promise that you can retire tomorrow when the truth is that there is work involved. They have fancier packaging and presentation, but what they’re selling is the same thing the lottery companies do. Most people hate their job but don’t let it make you blindly spend money on poor content. A fantastic living can be made but a good course should show you just how much time, effort and attention to detail is actually required. Unrealistic expectations are probably the number one reason that 90% of people who take an investment course will never use the information they learned.
3. The right paperwork
It blew my mind when I first participated in real estate investment club gatherings looking to find contracts. Instead, I was greeted with all types of newbie investors who had forked out $1000s on the seminars and boot camps and they were still looking for the same information?
So are you a victim of price illusion in real estate investing? If you took the hype away, what is a free real estate investing ebook really worth to you?
